Travis surprised me with an amazing 3-night trip to Algonquin. It was a much needed respite for the two of us after such a hectic past few months! We spent time reading our books, eating delicious food, feeding chipmunks and even went for a canoe. Travis helped me in and out of the boat, did all of the paddling and although it was tough for me to not stern and relinquish control of my favourite pastime, it was a perfect paddle, with loony loons, gorgeous weather and calm waters.

Just wanted to say that I was so happy to meet you at the ALS walk in June. You really are an inspiration, much as you'd rather live an ordinary live, you are touching people everywhere with your warmth, laughter and love of life. I'll be seeing Toby in Ohio at the end of this month and will be bring his ALS T-shirt with me. I plan to send you a photo of him wearing it in your honour. Toby's two sons will be (7 and 11) will be participating in a triathlon race and the USA Youth Nationals (I may have that title mixed up, but you get the idea). In the meantime I'm sending you and your lovely husband both a hug and best wishes.
