We had a fabulous time with amazing friends at the Women's FIFA Quarter-Final USA vs. China last night in Ottawa.  It was a beautiful evening and the spirit of the Ottawa crowd was awesome.

I am so honoured to be chosen to represent 10-year-old Isaiah's class project of a superhero.  It melts my heart, Danny & Katie have raised two thoughtful, caring boys and I'm so glad to have you all in my life!

Name:  Captain Carl
Super Power:  She gives people Hope. and helps people to live there lifes.
Gadget:  Her Wheelchare can fly and it has a forsfeeld.  (AWESOME!)
How they help others:  She gives people Hope. and Helps people to live there lifes.

How they got their power:  She is a very close friend to me and then me and my family heard that she had ALS but now she's living more than she ever has.

I can't believe it has already been over a week since the Ottawa Walk for ALS!  The sponsorships are continuing to pour in and the "Living Loving Laughing Walkers" have now made over $9000 for the ALS Society of Canada.  I am so grateful for all of the love, support and generosity.
I have added video to my gallery page so you can get a feel for just how beautiful the day was.

I have also been interviewed by the Toronto Star, if you are interested you can read the article below.
Toronto Star Article
After the walk, Dayne, Kate and myself headed off to spend some time in Montreal where we spent an amazing time with mom & dad, saw U2, drove on the Formula 1 track, visited Old Montreal and St. Joseph's Oratory, and were served an 11 course authentic Italian Feast from our friends Scott and Rosie.
I would have loved to have stayed and spent more time in Montreal but Travis had to stay in Ottawa to work and I missed him so much I had to come home!  I arrived home to an incredibly beautiful bag of goodies from our good friend Kim and her gorgeous company West Indies Wear.  I am a very lucky girl.

I have been receiving a phenomenal show of support of sponsorship for the "Living Loving Laughing Walkers" Ottawa Walk for ALS team.

It is so moving to hear from so many individuals from my past who helped to shape me into who I am today.  From Beaconsfield High School and Kamp Kanawana "Once a Kanawanian, Always a Kanawanian" campers & staff alike, to my Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority Sisters and my Cape Cod YMCA Hayward & Burgess folk, to my SXM & Learning Unlimited family of students and staff, and my CMHA peeps & partners, I cannot believe how many have reached out to wrap me in love.  I am so blessed to be reconnected with amazing individuals all across the world.

Also a special shout out to my team's incredible fundraisers Annemarie, Noriko, Brittany, and Al & Jeannie, you have gone above and beyond!

I have met my fundraising goal of $2000, incredible, and am on my way to our team's goal of $5000 (at $4400 at the time of writing this).  As the ALS Therapy Development Institute states  "ALS is not an incurable disease. It is an underfunded one".  So I am on my last few days of asking for donations & sponsors.

If you would like to sponsor me for the 2015 Ottawa Walk for ALS please Click Here!  Or if you want to sponsor the "Living Loving Laughing Walkers" team Click here!

After the walk, we will be heading to Lowertown Brewery for lunch in the ByWard Market, hope to see you there!

A special thank you to the amazing crew who helped Travis & I pack & move:
Julie, Dayne, Kate, Charlene, Helena, Katie, Danny, Craig, Tom, Al, Jeannie, Joanne, Brittany, Sean & Eric, we couldn't have done it without you!  When the work was done we had a lovely Sunday afternoon BBQ.
We are now settled in our new place and trying to unpack, it is wonderful having a walk-in shower that I didn't have to use my arms to lift my legs to get in and out of!

In the midst of the moving pandemonium I have been busy sharing my story with the media with the help of ALS Canada, to promote awareness for ALS, especially the Ottawa Walk for ALS to raise funds for much needed research into hope for ALS to become a treatable not terminal illness.  Check out my newspaper article below.

As usual I am also shamelessly soliciting donations for the walk, as lead walker, I am hoping to make an impact in donations, click below if you are interested in sponsoring me or my team the "Living Loving Laughing Walkers"!
