We are enjoying the Olympics tremendously (although Travis questions why I love the Men's diving, it's the synchronization I swear!) . Great to watch the Canadian Women's Rugby Sevens win bronze. Go Canada!
Looking forward to our cruise and Travis bought me a beautiful new carry on bag to add to the excitement!
When we come back we are headed to Kamp Kanawana's Alumni Reunion on The weekend of September 10th. I have already heard from some of my friends from the 90's who will be attending, hope to see you there! For more information on the Reunion please contact Vanessa at Vanessa.Valente@ymcaquebec.org
Don't forget, it's August, time for the Ice Bucket Challenge! I realize it is not the fad that it was in 2014, but every drop adds up! I also think it is time for the next generation to get doused!
"Every August until a cure. Because we have to."
These words from Ice Bucket Challenge co-founder Pat Quinn speak to the importance of raising money for ALS research. As we approach the second anniversary of the Ice Bucket Challenge, we are already seeing its impact: researchers who were funded through the Ice Bucket Challenge donations recently announced that the gene NEK1 has been found to play a role in the development of ALS.
Through the month of August, we're rallying behind Pat Quinn's words because we know that research - and the donations that fund it - are key to making ALS a treatable, not terminal, disease. Please join us by making a donation today.
