Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are spending Christmas in the usual way, with friends and family, and Travis cooking over 300 turkeys! It will be a difficult Christmas this year without my brother Don, but I know he is in our hearts and thoughts all of the time. I just wish I could talk to him. 2016 has been a tough year of losing amazing people, Don, being a legend himself, is in good company. I hope 2017 brings a little more kindness, less war, more acceptance of others and love for one another. The only thing that is truly important in life is each other, hug your loved ones tight. I may sound like a broken record by now, but I will never stop feeling so grateful and thanking you for the support you have showed Travis and I. Living with ALS is difficult every day, but we still find smiles though your thoughts, prayers and love. Thank you. Carol & Travis Interesting webcast on where research for treating/curing ALS is at on an international level. Remember, ALS is known as MND (Motor Neuron Disease) in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Unfortunately, I still have no treatment and am not enrolled in any clinical trials. Still waiting for the Ottawa Hospital to open their Neurological Center of Excellence, and begin research in my city! Hopefully when they open I'll still be around to participate in furthering research towards finding a treatment for all of us living with ALS. |
